Artists' books are not books about art or artists.

An Artists Book is a medium of artistic expression in the form of “book”.  Such a book may challenge the conventional “book” format and become a sculptural object that can be picked up and explored. 

In its creation artists include a variety of techniques – woodcut, etching, lithograph, collage, drawing, painting, typography or poetry all combined in different formats. The appearance of the book can be as diverse as its content

Artist books by JO are created to make art accessible to people outside of the formal contexts of a gallery. ” Not everyone has walls to hang their artworks”, says Jo, ”Each book is its own little exhibition ready to be adored and explored.”

They are most often unique objects or limited edition works of art.

Jo also creates a range of Artists Journals in various formats and sizes.

These are covered with hand printed papers and are hand bound. The books containing acid free papers of varying weights are suitable for all art mediums. Varying structures of each book make it possible to personalise it with your own artworks, collections, writings and collage to create your own artists book.

These can be sewn in binding or concertinas, concertinas with pockets plus extra sewn in pages or combinations of these.
